| 26:3 | 鞭子是為打馬.轡頭是為勒驢.刑杖是為打愚昧人的背。 | A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back. |
| 26:4 | 不要照愚昧人的愚妄話回答他、恐怕你與他一樣。 | Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. |
| 26:5 | 要照愚昧人的愚妄話回答他、免得他自以為有智慧。 | Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit. |
| 26:6 | 藉愚昧人手寄信的、是砍斷自己的腳、自受損害。〔自受原文作喝〕 | He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage. |
| 26:7 | 瘸子的腳、空存無用.箴言在愚昧人的口中也是如此。 | The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools. |
| 26:8 | 將尊榮給愚昧人的、好像人把石子包在機弦裏。 | As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool. |
| 26:9 | 箴言在愚昧人的口中、好像荊棘刺入醉漢的手。 | As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools. |
| 26:10 | 雇愚昧人的、與雇過路人的、就像射傷眾人的弓箭手。 | The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors. |
| 26:11 | 愚昧人行愚妄事、行了又行、就如狗轉過來喫牠所吐的。 | As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. |
| 26:12 | 你見自以為有智慧的人麼.愚昧人比他更有指望。 | Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him. |
| 26:13 | 懶惰人說、道上有猛獅、街上有壯獅。 | The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets. |
| 26:14 | 門在樞紐轉動、懶惰人在床上也是如此。 | As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed. |
| 26:15 | 懶惰人放手在盤子裏、就是向口撤回、也以為勞乏。 | The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth. |
| 26:16 | 懶惰人看自己、比七個善於應對的人更有智慧。 | The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason. |
| 26:17 | 過路被事激動、管理不干己的爭競、好像人揪住狗耳。 | He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears. |
| 26:18 | 人欺凌鄰舍、卻說、我豈不是戲耍嗎。他就像瘋狂的人拋擲火把、利箭、與殺人的兵器〔殺人的兵器原文作死亡〕。 | As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death, |

| 26:20 | 火缺了柴、就必熄滅.無人傳舌、爭競便止息。 | Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth. |
| 26:21 | 好爭競的人煽惑爭端、就如餘火加炭、火上加柴一樣。 | As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife. |
| 26:22 | 傳舌人的言語、如同美食、深入人的心腹。 | The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. |
| 26:23 | 火熱的嘴、奸惡的心、好像銀渣包的瓦器。 | Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross. |
| 26:24 | 怨恨人的用嘴粉飾、心裏卻藏着詭詐. | He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him; |
| 26:25 | 他用甜言蜜語、你不可信他、因為他心中有七樣可憎惡的. | When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart. |
| 26:26 | 他雖用詭詐遮掩自己的怨恨、他的邪惡必在會中顯露。 | Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation. |
| 26:27 | 挖陷坑的、自己必掉在其中.滾石頭的、石頭必反滾在他身上。 | Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him. |
| 26:28 | 虛謊的舌、恨他所壓傷的人.諂媚的口、敗壞人的事。 | A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin. |
